Ride for Refuge is an annual family-friendly bicycling or walking event to raise money for charities across the country that work with those who are displaced, vulnerable, and exploited. This year, the RIDE took place on October 3, 2020. Usually, the event is a large gathering of hundreds of people biking and walking for their charity of choice. This year, however, because of COVID-19 restrictions, the event involved participants choosing their fundraising activity. Teams created their own small events such as outdoor bike rides, in-studio spin classes, and bake sales.
With the help of our incredible teams and generous donors, we exceeded our fundraising goal of $28,000!
We are so grateful to our community! Your support helps to ensure that children who have experienced abuse will have the opportunity to be heard, helped, and healed. Snowflake Place has already seen an influx in child abuse reports as a result of the very necessary measures in place to respond to COVID-19. Your support helps Snowflake Place to ensure all kids, when able to reach out, have the opportunity to be heard. Your donations go towards restoring the health and well-being of those affected by child abuse through a coordinated, community response, and also contribute to the improvement of Manitoba’s response to child abuse.
