Ride for Refuge

Ride for Refuge is an annual, family-friendly bicycling or walking event to raise money for charities across the country that work with those who are displaced, vulnerable and exploited.  This year, the RIDE will happen on October 3, 2020.  Respecting restrictions related to covid, we’ll gather virtually, self-organizing in smaller teams or groups as permitted.

Why should I sign up to support Snowflake Place?

Snowflake Place is Manitoba’s only child advocacy centre that provides a safe, child-friendly space for child victims and their caregivers to meet with service providers, and where children are interviewed by highly trained forensic interviewers.

Nearly 400 children were interviewed at Snowflake Place last year. Sadly, this represents only a small fraction of the children involved in the approximately 4,000 child abuse investigations conducted annually in our Province; and it is widely believed that many more cases go unreported each year.

Snowflake Place is anticipating an influx in child abuse reports as a result of the very necessary measures in place to respond to COVID-19. Now more than ever, kids in Manitoba need your support.

Become a Team Captain

We need strong, motivated Team Captains on board if we are to meet our fundraising goal of $28,000 to help improve Manitoba’s response to child abuse! As a Team Captain, your responsibilities would include recruiting a team (no limit on members), encouraging their fundraising, and organizing fundraising initiatives or events.
